Required Applicant Skillsets
  • Working management experience in a sporting club environment
  • A working knowledge of golf format play
  • A working knowledge of competition play and handicapping
  • Extemporary oral & written communication ability
  • Diverse & creative ability to envisage membership needs and drive engagement
  • The ability to develop and manage a golfing service team
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office Suite & knowledge of Golf Management Software
  • Strong understanding of accounting practices
  • A keen interest in the latest forms of subsidiary golfing entertainment and revenue stream
  • Understanding of F&B and its interaction with the overall golfing entertainment experience
  • Ability to present compelling sales collateral
  • Ability to convert leads & inquiries into meaningful business pieces

The role is offered on an immediate basis and you will be afforded the opportunity to fine tune the final public offer. The role is based at the Araluen Estate and requires the successful candidate to work Weekends & Public Holidays.

You may just be out of university with a degree in sports science or completed a number of relatable sports courses within the TAFE framework.

Home of the Enchanted Valley, the Araluen Estate is a premier 18-hole championship facility that has undergone significant refurbishment over the past few years and most recently our lodge facilities.

The role is located at our Araluen Estate in hills of Roleystone, between the Araluen Botanical Gardens to the south and the Wungong Regional Park to the north.

We are highly desirable golfing attraction that is difficult to compare in terms of the total player experience. Every hole is a golfing delight with undulating fairways, trapping bunkers and green topography, that defies the most discerning putter.

We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate qualified Greens Keeper to work here with us. This is a full-time position Monday to Friday with some weekend overtime.

Greenkeepers with a strong work ethic and team orientation, who are looking to learn, and have a passion for presenting surfaces of the highest quality, will excel in our environment.

What will you be doing

Reporting to the Assistant Course Superintendent, you will be involved in all aspects of turf maintenance required for the upkeep of the golf course. The Club takes great pride in presenting quality playing surfaces and accordingly sets high standards for staff in all aspects of their role. Our Team are supported by experienced leadership and a highly competent group of turf care professionals.

  • Certificate III or Diploma equivalent in Turf Management or Greenkeeping
  • Golf course related experience as it relates to WHS
  • Experience working on a golf course
  • Sound knowledge in reticulation
  • Chemical spraying certificate/license preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a ‘can do’ attitude
  • A genuine passion for the outdoors/horticulture/golf industry
  • Be well presented, friendly and professional
  • The ability to work as part of a team and to lead and inspire others
  • A strong work ethic
